We had so much fun and were blown away by the amazing views around Queenstown. Our driver Ben was an experienced and knowledgeable guide, and an accomplished 4WD Driver. Exceeded our expectations.Posted on Tripadvisor Diana G19/04/2026Verified Seeing is believing. You’re in Lord of the Rings If you want to see all the places that were used to film Lord of the Rings, do it with this company Ask for Fin Was soPosted on Tripadvisor Shezmark H17/04/2026Verified Spectacular views and a great day trip The tour was a fun day and enjoyed by all of the family, even those that we not into LOTR, seeing the spectacular scenery and the 4wd adventuring is a great day regardless. The two tour guides we had (morning and afternoon) were great and knowledgeable on all aspects and made the trip enjoyable. My boys enjoyed the morning but liked the afternoon panning and 4WD through the river more as very different to other adventures we had across our trip. A great experience and visit to some spectacular scenery in Queenstown that everyone enjoyed.Posted on Tripadvisor Kate F17/04/2026Verified Favorite Walk I booked the full-day Routeburn hike through Nomads Queenstown and it was a highlight of my trip. My guide, Angelo Georgalli, was fantastic—super knowledgeable about the nature, birds, and surroundings, which made the experience so much more interesting. Everything was really well organised, and the scenery was incredible—waterfalls, forest, and amazing views up towards the saddle. We even had a bit of rain which made it more fun and adventurous. Highly recommend!Posted on Tripadvisor Andrea I14/04/2026Verified Worth doing! Matt was our guide who was very friendly, knowledgeable and great company. We all felt very safe in the 4wd which is important given the type of roads we were on and the wet weather. Highly recommended!Posted on Tripadvisor Anna B14/04/2026Verified Amazing views and great tour Luke was an amazing tour guide! No one else showed up from the group so he did the tour for me solo and was very accommodating about going whatever pace I wanted / stopping when I wanted to. Snacks provided were good and views were incredible all day even in the rain - saw rainbow on the drive in and back too!
EXCELLENT Based on 9 reviews Posted on Google Stefan Choo (PhD)Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I booked the Skipper's Canyon 4WD Drive tour on 6 May at 8.15am via Agoda. However, as I was the only passenger on the tour that morning, Nomad Safaris proposed that I switch over to the Half-Day Lord of The Rings tour at Gleonarchy. At first, I was a tad disappointed as I was looking for adventure and adrenaline over the narrow Skipper's Canyon. Our exceptional guide, Hayden made the difference for this tour, even though I wasn't crazy about LOTR. It was quite an experience sitting in a 4WD vehicle for the first time. The scenic drive from Queenstown to Glenoarchy gave us sweeping views across the Remarkables and Walter Peak. Our first stop was fun, where we proned down near a cliff to recreate the scene of Froddo, Samwise and Gollum at 12 mile creek. We drove further into Paradise and stopped where X-men: Wolverine was shot. Our last stop was by a creek where one of the battles in LOTR was fought. We even got to dress up as one of the characters from LOTR with weighted swords (though I felt like I was more like a Jawa from the Star Wars universe)Posted on Google Angela ParryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an incredible Lord of the Rings tour in Glenorchy today (Sunday, May 3rd) with Nomad Safaris. Our driver and guide, Kenny, was outstanding. Super knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to chat with throughout the tour. He did an amazing job keeping everyone engaged, especially the kids, which made the experience even more enjoyable for our whole group. The scenery was absolutely stunning, and the tour itself was packed with fascinating insights not just about Lord of the Rings, but also about local birdlife, native plants, and Māori culture. It felt like a really well-rounded experience rather than just a film tour. The morning tea was a lovely added touch and gave us a chance to relax and take it all in. Overall, a brilliant experience that we’d highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!Posted on Google malin de silvaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very enjoyable tour and the tour guide was very knowledgeable across multiple topicsPosted on Google Jeroen de JonghTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. With limited time but wanted to see more than just the city, this tour was perfect for me. Not a Lord of the Rings fan but driving around the mountains and hearing the stories of the challenges when filming were definitely interesting. My driver/guide Nico was great! He gave a lot of information on the area, history, economy, nature and multiple movies shot in the area. I felt comfortable and save when Nico navigated mountain roads and river crossings in the 4WD. Definitely recommend this tour!Posted on Google Lish TeeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nomad Safari is THE go to for Quad Bike tours in Queenstown. We booked day-of and I was quite hesitant as I’m not much of an adrenaline junkie/thrill seeker, but that was genuinely the best time of my life. Big thankyou to Tom and Ben who took my husband, myself and another lovely couple out today. They were very helpful, informative and patient with us. The weather was awesome, the actual tour was an unreal experience with the most breathtaking views of ZQN. I would do that again in a heart beat.Posted on Google Varun AnandTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
