Nomad Safaris is a Finalist
in the Sustainable 60 Awards

Sustainable 60

The finalists for the Sustainable 60 Series have been announced. The response to the awards was impressive with over 110 individual sustainable initiatives across all the five categories of Strategy and Governance, Marketplace, Workplace, Community and Environment, from 48 companies. The winners will be announced at the cocktail awards night in Auckland on Wednesday 2 December.

Nomad Safaris is delighted to have been selected as a double finalist in the Sustainable 60 Awards.

We submitted entries in all five categories and this qualified us to enter in the Overall Exemplar category.

Strategy & Governance - our initiative for this category was our use of Green Globe and its certification process to measure, manage and reduce our company environmental footprint

Workplace - Our in house training programme incorporating ATTTO qualifications to enhance the experience given to our customers when on tour with us

Marketplace - our initiative here was the development, rollout and ongoing success of our Safari of The Scenes Lord of The Rings tours around the Southern Lakes area

Environment - our initiative in this category was to ensure that only clean water and natural products are put down the drain, through waste water diversion and using natural cleaning materials such as white vinegar and baking soda.

Community - the initiative we chose for this category was our wilding pines volunteer programme where the major aim is to protect the unique Otago landscape

From these five categories we have been named as finalists in the Strategy and Governance section and also in the Overall Small Exemplar category.

The Fairfax Media and Price Waterhouse Coopers Sustainable 60 series 'will assist companies in understanding what sustainability means in business and how it affects the bottom line. Fairfax Media Business Group and PricewaterhouseCoopers believe that robust, resilient and future-focused companies are essential for New Zealand's economy'.
